Well, I start tommorow with Barnes and Noble for Seasonal help. They're starting me in the cafe so I'll have to learn how to make those silly drinks that people order.
I dont think it will be all that bad, but if someone throws a latte' at me, I quit. It seems like they can be flexible with my schedule.
Im not crazy about it, but it will bring in some extra cash. But I usually dont go for corporate stuff like that. I felt really tired after Thanksgiving. But it wasnt from eating too much. These dang allergies have been bothering me all week. I found Im really allergic to dust mites. So we have been trying to get rid of them. I didnt realize my house was that dusty, but it is.
I think my Christmas show will probably be ready this week. They had trouble loading the credits so I had to dub them onto vhs. But I did that just in time because later today my vhs-dvd combo just quit working. And I could get anything on it. So I have to throw it away. Those things never work anyway. But I have another dvd player so Ill just buy a vhs player. You can get them right cheap these days.
Tommorow I have to get up with the roosters and be at work by 7:45 A.M. But I think next week I can come in later.
Oh, well, its some money. Even though I could make a lot more singing in an hour than working a week there.

Nicole is still my muse.....

There will always be a soft place in my heart for the lovely and talented lady from down under. Though her getting married in June did sort of put a damper on things, I still get weak in the knees for the luscious vixen that boils my Ovaltine.
She really has something about her. Of course shes a beauty, no denyin' that! But there's also that kind of innocense along with the sexy vibrato she has, as well as an intelligence that makes her all the more desirable. That Keith whats-his-name is a hell of a lucky guy. I still sing "Nicole, Will You Marry Me?" at my live shows. Of course now it doesnt quite have the same meaning. Maybe Im just sayin' she'll always be my number one. I love to watch her movies. Maybe some day Ill get to meet her and tell her in person just what a doll I really think she is.

Hello, from the Virginia Lottery !

I sent in my audition tape for the Virginia lottery casting. Im not sure anything will come of it though.
My Christmas show is about finished. All left to do is editing.
Went to short pump town center tonite. The Christmas rush is on. And its not even Thanksgiving yet.
I see this house on Grove Ave. Its an old Victorian thats being fixed up and its for sale. It would be ultra nifty to live in a place like that.

Lucky Hit
Lucky Hit Plantation, Clarke County, Virginia.I loved listening to my grandmother tell me the family stories about the Skeltons and all their friends in Richmond.
A lot of people ask where I get my name from. Well, its a namesake that comes from my ancestors the Meades of Virginia. Richard Kidder Meade, Everard, and David Meade were the brothers. They were from Tidewater Virginia area in the 18th Century. Richard Kidder Meade moved up to the northern Shenandoah Valley (Frederick County- now Clarke) and built his plantation there "Lucky Hit". He got the name from a poem. But also because his plantation in Tidewater was not as prosperous, but he found better luck in the valley. He would be the brother of my great great great great great grandfather, Everard Meade.
Anyways, I plan to visit there soon. I do miss the area since I did grow up not far from there in nearby Loudoun .

Weekend Show
Yay, Im up late again.
Well Saturday night I played the Little Grill. Its a neat place. Well, Buck Gooter went first. Billy has a lot of energy on stage. Terry is is a good guitar player. I felt like I was kinda tired when I went on. And then I get nervous and then I get all sweaty which is kind of embarrasing. I didnt feel quite energetic and probably was worried about other stuff. Anyways, I did my usual numbers... Porker, They Cant Keep Me Down, Nicole, Will You Marry Me?, etc. I also tried "Nobody Wants Me" and "The Way I Am". Some of my new songs are not bad. But my fans seem to favor my 'outsider' songs like Porker, and my most recent "From The Outside Looking In". I plan to put that on wax right soon.
The Brooms rounded off the night with their bluesy- folk rock styles. I got one of the discs too and am enjoying it.
The drive home was kinda rough. There was lots of rain and wind and going down the side of the blue ridge was a tad scary.
I got mad at my computer yesterday and kicked it. I knocked the modem lose. Luckily a good computer savy friend of mine was able to help me get it back in place. Wow, there sure was a lot of dust in there!
Anyways, I reckon I better get some sleep soon.
My Christmas program is almost finished. Next week Ill drop it off to be edited.

Stop saying "You Guys"!
I dont know why so many people are using this expression lately. I always thought a guy was someone of the male variety. But when I go places with my sister they seem to implore this. I notice even if its a complete group of women, they will say "you guys" when addressing them. Is this something new? I never heard this growing up. I always said "y'all" or "you all" to imply plurality. Anyways, it really really really GRATES on my nerves!
Never liked that expression. And they're using it all over. Even here in the South!
Another thing I dont understand is people calling supper "dinner". Dinner is the noon meal. Sometimes it can be called lunch, but dinner is the largest meal. Supper is the evening meal. Thats how my parents always refered to it anyway.
I hope Im not stuck in some time warp or something, but I wish people would just speak English correctly.
Its not "you guys"!
Anyways, sorry for my rude rant, but I had to get that off my chest.
